Olives are an important staple throughout the Mediterranean, and appear in dishes throughout the region. These warmed and marinated olives are flavored with regional herbs and citrus zest to create a wonderful appetizer. This definitely elevates pouring olives straight out of the jar into a serving dish, but we wouldn't judge you for that either!

Ingredients
-
1 cup Green Olives, such as our Picholine
-
1 Cup Dark Olives, such as Greek kalamata
-
½ cup fine extra virgin olive oil
-
Orange Zest
-
1 tbsp dried thyme
-
1 tsp greek fennel seeds
-
2 cloves of garlic
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes
-
½ tsp salt
-
black pepper
Directions
Rinse excess brine from olives
Combine olives with the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl
Transfer into a medium sauce pan and turn heat to medium. Once the olive oil starts to sizzle, reduce to low heating sauté slowly for about 4 minutes.
Once the fragrance of the olives and garlic emerge, you are ready to transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with a sprig of fresh Oregano if you’re fancy!
